Overview

Mathematical logic develops the kind of thinking that is needed by the future planners of technical devices in order to have end-user friendly, logical technical applications. This creates an urgent need for workers with mathematical logic skills in European enterprises.

The MALog project is a response to this problem. The aim of this project is to provide learning materials in a variety of mathematical logic and applied logic topics. These learning materials are designed to meet the needs of schools, universities and business. The aim is to provide high-quality materials that develop the mathematical skills of students and employees throughout Europe.

The project has some specific goals:

  • Perform a need analysis of schools, universities and business.
  • Collect relevant example problems from business.
  • Develop a list of suitable mathematical logic topics (in the form of an ontology).
  • Develop at least sixty units of learning materials.
  • Test and evaluate delivery of learning materials.

The materials will be free and available for download. The material will be licensed under a Creative Commons license.

The project consists of universities and schools working to develop this material in English, Finnish, French, German and Romanian.

MALog is funded with support of the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Union KA3 ICT-505326
